I have used my s&g guillemot fishing heaps. In this picture my bro in law, seaton is catching a throw back snapper. Keep things simple ... what do you really need - a fishing rod which you stow on the deck, some bait and some tackle.

In the foreground is my fly rod which I use for trolling/harling and can vouch that if you catch anything with that, it is really exciting.

Soon after the mini snapper, Seaton hooked up what was almost certaily a stingray. It towed him across the Kawhia (New Zealand) Harbour at about 1.5 knots for the best part of half a mile .. the nantucket sleigh ride. That experience would be about the only time you might be wanting a rudder: to keep your hands free. However, I was able to nudge Seaton's stern back on track when things started to get 'sideways'. So it was all good.

Cheers Pete
