You'll have no trouble learning as you build. The builders of larger boats use a lot more jargon.

Won't be a problem if you build from the kit. Shouldn't be a problem if you build from plans.

My personal opinion, especially on a first boat, is that you should follow the advice of the folks at CLC regarding materials.

The fiberglass/epoxy work is a little tricky. A recent thread here (Nov 20) had some excellent suggestions. Don't worry- build a kayak. Stitch & glue now... a stripper next.
