Paul is right, this job is way easier than it looks.
An simple way to make the long handled brush is to cut a piece of wood 1" x 1" x 8', and drill a hole at 45 degrees close to one end. Make the diameter of the hole the same as the handle of a foam brush. Push the brush into the hole and cut off the excess handle, then secure it with a small screw.
Don't make the mistake of using tape on the outside seam, it may not wet out clear. You can cut pieces of cloth into strips with a rotary cutter for taping the outside.
