I used this set up for my North Star and so far so good. The boat sat in the pouring rain for 4 hours and then I drove 75 miles home with it in the same storm and it was bone dry inside. I don't know about leaks rolling with it yet. Instead of making hooks,I used hardwood drawer pull knobs under the hatches. I used the 1/2 piece pvc tubing on the hull side as described. They seem to work fine.
