I get rid of the static charge much the same way one disipates it while working on computers. I have a long (as needed) piece of stranded no.14 wire, stripped about 2" at on end and I put an eye on the other end. Spread the wires out at the stripped end and tape the bare wire flat against the inside of the hull. Remove the screw that holds one of your electrical outlet covers on. Place it through the eye in the other end of the wire and screw it back into the cover. These screws are grounded through the house electrical system and will disipate the charge to the earth. This works well for me, here in the highly charged and dry conditions of Central Oregon. NOTE!! Some older homes are not grounded. An outlet check devise from Home Depot will tell for sure. Also placing the wire into one of the slots of an outlet will reduce you or your boat to a cinder, DON"T DO IT!
