i love the idea of the glossy plastic tube making the finish too. nice one.

I've seen mention of a similar technique for total cockpits by using rope inside a garden hose(or say your tubing - better) and tied tight to the whole thing upstand at once - would need to fit out once to dial in the over lap.(walbridge or preston holms or rapid mag squirts?)

i want some 90 deg corners(not radiused) in a semi similar coaming and other places and have been playing around w/ similar ideas to achieve it(i know i'll probably have failures)

so for the 90 deg (i/s corner) coaming analog here are some other ideas i've been mulling over

- vac bagging (for various situations - coaming less easy)

- for the coaming in this case, various plastic upstands like a continuous curl cut from a poly bucket and clipped in place over the glass w/ a bunch of spring clips runnning all around the coaminng upstand. or same thing for a radius but using that cheap plastic/rubber baseboard over there at the base of the wall - just spring clip all around and does the radius as well as compresses all the way up the upstand. you can choose different ones w/ diff radius's or maybe(don't know)some have no radius at all. or putting on saran and just wrapping a few times w/ 1in wide webbing.

- ethafoam over saran. cut some long thin strips of ethafoam or other closed cell foam(styro?)say 3/8in by 1in and wrap around and around the coaming and clip that in place, push down firmly for the 90deg corner. In some cases I'll probably use this as i have both 90inside and 90 outside close together. just a different foam profile.

-making external forms from either spray foam, caulk(careful w/ silicone on bare wood - like real careful), clay, or load it up w/ sand. and strapping in place the forms after glass laid(using saran or a release)
