Hi Simone

:The first day, I managed to plane all the boards, edge them (with table saw), and rip the strips.

This step alone could be cut down to an hour or two with the board straightener I have used for many years. It takes about 30 minutes to construct if you have all the materials at hand. When set on the saw, you can run the boards through it twice ( on most boards ) and have your square edge, ready to use on the table saw. In 30 minutes, you could have more lumber run than you need for two or three boats.

: I managed to do everything on my own, with the help of a couple long
: infeed/outfeed tables. The only thing I hope to speed up is the ripping of
: strips. I am going to try to rip two or three at a time this year.

Having the long infeed and outfeed tables is a very important step. It makes any saw process much simpler and quicker. On the ripping combo, I don't think I would try using more than a two blade gang set up. It just doesn't sound safe to me. Too many cutting edges to worry about at one time. ???

: I'm not sure how much a power feeder costs, but any money saved could well be
: spent on your boats.

The power feeders I've seen run anywhere from $300 to around $600 or more. Easily the cost of building one or two boats.
