I agree with that opinion. I cut enough full length white cedar strips for a little more than 2 boats in 2 days. I started with rough lumber from the local mill, and proceeded to plane, rip, and rout it. The first day I managed to plane all the boards, edge them (with table saw), and rip the strips. The next day was spent feeding them through the dual router setup, and I was finished.

I managed to do everything on my own, with the help of a couple long infeed/outfeed tables. The only thing I hope to speed up is the ripping of strips. I am going to try to rip two or three at a time this year.

I'm not sure how much a power feeder costs, but any money saved could well be spent on your boats.
