I am like Stan and have spent my time varnishing wood on boats and recently found that Epiphanes is outstanding (I was a former Interlux Schooner 96 only). I did find that Epiphanes is a thicker varnish and requires trial and error thinning to get it right but when you do it is phenominal. My experience with Captains was it was pretty thin anyway. Maybe that explains Rob's good experience with it versus the Epiphanes. Or perhaps epoxy requires a thinner varnish anyway.
Of course varnish is like religion, yours (mine) is always best.
