I agree with R.Morgan, spend the $$$ and get a rack system that has been engineered to fit your vehicle. It makes for a more secure system and one that is easy to on amd off your vehicle. I use Yakima for my vehicles, I'm partial to my old TLC holders but I have used them for the past 5 years to my annual summer trek to Me. from Wi.and I only use the straps for the system (no bow safety line). My kayak is usually filled with stuff (especially on the trip back) and with all components tightened I feel that my load is very secure with this product Money well spent.I will soon be buying a used Mini-van and will have to get some new clips for that ( it has a factory roof rack but if carry two kayaks, it's only rated for 150#) I'll have to do some research on this for my future excersions but I do have the bars and towers...........Wayne : Everyone may be sorry that I now know how to work my scanner, but here is my
