Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

John,
Finaly a question I can answer. The rack you illustrated appears to be a Yakima Q-tower system. The foot sits on top of the roof line and the clip does indeed slip between the door and the rof frame. Yakima has a web site -Yakima.com- that allows you to fit check your vehicle. They do a ton of research to customize a specific clip for each vehicle so as to minimize or prevent any damage/leaking of your car. I have used yakima systems an all my cars and trucks for the last 10 years and can say with authority there is no better system on the market. That said- they aren't cheep either. If you check the fit-list and they don't have a rack for your car check with Thule, they too make an outstanding system. I personaly have not had any leaking on my cars although they do recommend taking the rack off the car if you aren't going to use it for awhile.
Cheers
Rick
