MacBeath is great for hardwood, though they're rarely the cheapest. They don't carry cedar or other softwoods. They are, however, terrific for the veneers you need for Rob's baidarkas.

Re: Rob's reply (many thanks). The local yards rarely sell anything kiln-dried at the lengths required. It looks like they're supplying the local fence builders. I posted my original request, hoping that someone had built a stripper locally and could pass on a good source. Still got my fingers crossed.
