The Kevlar provides some triangulation to keep the frame from racking and breaking the rib/stringer bonds. This is not an issue in traditional boats because the lashed joints have enough give to accomodate some movement until the skin puts a halt to the twisting.

If you were using Platt Monfort's 3/8"sq, untwisted stringers, I would use the Kevlar to prevent snapping those bonds. However, it looks like you have flat stringers that twist to conform to the hull, providing lots of bonding area.

So, to answer your question, I dunno. It sure is nice of you to go ahead and test all this out for the rest of us. Meanwhile, I am already jealous of your boat.
