Thanks for the tip, Ron. I've done some mockups using 3/4"x3/4"x5-1/2" blocks. Some blocks are light, some dark, some half and half, and some 1/4-3/4. I can slice this like a loaf of bread and get 15 motif units out of one layup. Doing it your way would double that, maybe a little less allowing for kerf width. This is looking doable.
