: I truly appreciate the time and thought you are putting into this thread,
: Rob.

Thank you. I hope to help those building and those thinking about it.

. For some the journey IS the destination.

The journey is why I do it. The paycheck pays for food and shoes.

: I read with interest that you use staples on your hulls, rather than the hot
: glue method. From your earlier post I inferred that there was a problem with
: my choice of hot glue or technique on the hull, but perhaps that is not
: the case?

I DO use hot glue for stapless construction, but I also use staples on the hull bottoms. It's simple, no one notices the staple holes on the hull bottom and it's a lot faster and easier than working stapless.

I could do the bottom stapless but time is money. And I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep....

I have stripped hull bottoms using the hot glue method I describe. The hot glue will hold well even on the toughest strips on the keel.

BTW I also use only northern white cedar for my hull bottoms. It is the easiest wood to strip with in terms of flexibility.

All the best,
Rob
