That would be a departure from Montford methods that woud create some difficulties. The framework gets built from the outside-in; you wire the stringers to the forms and bend the ribs to fit. For a peaked deck (like a baidarka) it could work, but if the deck is cambered with stringers you wouldn't have room to work.

The other trickey part is tightening the Kevlar. You need the ability to re-tighten it after the skin is shrunk. I was thinking of skinning the hull and deck seperately, and maybe even making them seperate units. What are your plans, Bill?
