Bill.. If I may suggest: Just build it the way you were going to as you had it all thought out. Leave all the different ideas for the next boat. Save yourself the headaches of redesigning and trying to make everyones ideas fit.
Go with your ideas first and see what works and what you aren't happy with, then make the decision to add or change something. If you stop everytime someone comes up with a new idea, you'll never get started, let alone finish.
Just about done with the steamer. Had the spring on my staple-gun pop and had to do a repair. $27.80 for a spring and that's do it yourself. Whew!! Will get a picture this evening. Even has power steering.
