: Anyone have any comments on using a kerosene heater in a small unheated
: workshop
: /garage. I'm going to start stripping within the next couple of weeks and was
: a
: little concerned about the effects of a combustable heat source on curing
: epoxy.
: I was also wondering if carpenters glue is affected in any way by cooler
: tempuratures. My workshop is built below my house so it never gets below
: freezing yet it can get quite c-c-c-cold. Thanks.

In my experience the typical New England house is not exactly air tight. I think kero burns pretty clean and should be okay as long as you don't use up your oxygen supply. Kero can produce soot (lampblack) if not properly adjusted. Contrary to certain statements in this thread, CO will not combine with O2 at room temperatures and exhaust your oxygen supply. What it does is to attach to the hempglobin in your red blood cells and render them useless for oxygen exchange. This is why folks who suffocate from CO poisoning are not blue, but area lovely pink in death.
