Dennis - The extra $ is definitely worth it. You would use a higher speed for fairing, but a slower speed for grinding epoxy fair. High speed on epoxy generates too much heat. The epoxy can soften enough to gum up the paper. For an excellent evaluation of RO sanders, see Wood Magazine, issue 123, April, 2000.
