I would definitly test your plywood. I used 1/8" Birch for my boat. I boil tested it and have had no problems. I then built a boat for my daughter with the same wood from the same source. I didn't use epoxy on that one and have some delamination at the edges. For the worst case, I recently tried to bend some 1/4" Luan. Ten minutes of soaking in hot water and it fell to pieces. As a disclaimer, I fould this Luan in the barn and don't know how long it had been there; standards may have been diferent when it was manufactured.

You just don't know what you've got unless you test.
