> appreciated!!! I have used Okoume for my kayak and have 1/8" oak and mahogany skins for cabinet work. I have some of each that has been stored vertically for about a year. I am starting a second boat with the Okoume figuring with all the labor and other costs I am not going to scrimp to save $100 on lumber for a boat that will last me 10-20 years. Some of my doorskin lumber has some visible delamination that it did all by itself while being stored. But I have friends who have used doorskins for canoe building and it worked fine so far (2 years, moderate use).
