My first attempt at butt joints on the Artic Tern resulted in two examples of butt-ugly work. I cut them out using an ultra thin finishing saw made by Stanley. The blade is about 5" and the handle another 4". Its double-sided. It cut the epoxy/glass composite without any problems. I just clamped at short piece of scrap parallel with the seam to keep a straight edge. I'm learning not to practice new skills on the boat.
