Thanks to everybody for their comments. I have to let my SO mull over her decision for a bit now and then figure out how to proceed. Perhaps I'll just get the plans and start on a boat for my dad who would be happy with anything, especially anything wood.

I did see that the Goldeneye Pygmy plans were available. I have often pondered the thought of designing my own multipaneled deck that is similar to the Osprey. Also considering the strip deck option. The SO is worried that the boat will take until next summer to build though.
