Frits,

It is the kayak described in George Putz's book "Wood and Canvas Kayak Building". It was originally built by Norman Skene for "The Rudder" back in 1923. He took the lines off of a Southwest Greenland kayak that is described in Adney and Chappelle's "The Bark Canoes and Skin Boats of North America". He modified it's shape slightly to fit larger "European" paddlers, and built it with a bridgework frame. Back in 1923 the cost was about $10.
