We refer to a canoe like yours as a two-ton hippo. Have you decided what kind of canoe you want to build? Last winter I built a 17' Kooteney (40lbs) and a 18' BWCA Cruiser (weight unknown). Both are nice boats.

I just got my plans for what I hope to be my next project a little 11.5' double paddle canoe by Mac McCathy the "Feather" a sailing canoe. The canoe goes together very quickly (no decks to deal with).

Talking about canoes I know a few of you have built the Feather. I have a question about the centerboard. What is the aluminum arm used for that attaches to the centerboard? I have sailed a few small solo sailboats before and I don't recall seeing anything like it before.
