Hi Jack No, there is nothing wrong untill it happens. A properly adjusted guard should not bind. Do not do any adjustment when the blade is running -- better yet unplug the saw before adjustment and clearring jam. There is nothing wrong with these advise either. I just want to remind people to repect their actions and tools.
