Hi Spidey,

Hey, there are no such thing as dumb questions - everybody on this BBS has their own field of expertise and areas where they ask basic questions. The greatest thing is the cooperative spirit and the willingness to help others - we have something very special here.

When it comes to strip style kayaks I am as new at this as you are - I'm watching your progress, you are a bit ahead of me right now. I would appreciate any input on the thickness and bead relationship.

I am in the process of preparing everything so that when the temperatures get more reasonable then I can get going - probably some time in March useless I can find some where heated to work :-(

I am still trying to decide weather I will be using the 10" table saw with a narrow kerf (1/16") 7 1/2" blade or the bandsaw - there has been enough discussion on both approaches that I am just going to run a couple of tests with my equipment to see what turns out the best.

To answer your question, I plan to rip the strips off of the 2x6 and then divide them.

Hank
