I had an event occur the other day that made me reevaluate the durability of the boats I've built...They are much more durable than I previous thought. I have a one car garage with three kayaks hanging from the ceiling. The Guillemot hung underneath my CLC Cape Charles 18. The CLC boat is way over built, weighing in at 55lbs. The cleat that was screwed into the ceiling joist had cracked and broke. It was an unbelievable sound. After the Guillemot crashed onto the cement floor, the CC 18 fell on top of it. The Guillemot damage: a couple of scratches on the hull and on the cockpit coaming. The CLC damage: none that I can find.
