Lee - I've been looking forward to paddling a skinnier racier boat (like your North Bay) - but haven't had the chance yet. I don't remember being a deck whacker in some plastic boats I took lessons in - but then who cares about whacking into plastic when you are trying to figure out how to stay upright and brace and such. I have paddled a little Feathercraft boat with a really low deck and don't remember scraping the deck fabric - so - I just don't know. Can't wait to find out though...
