Hi Dan, I'm building a Chesapeake 17 currently and I tend to agree, the instructions could use some improvement. I checked out Chris's book from my local library and while it was a good book, it is obviously the source of the instructions that you are unhappy with. There was a lot of crossover between the two, I don't know if you'll be satisfied buying the book.

To CLC's credit, however, they have always responded to my questions via email very quickly and have cleared up any of the confusion in the instruction. I usually read & re-read the step that I'm looking to perform, then perform a dry run (as much as possible) before doing it so I have thought everything out.
