So would I, but I haven't seen that I have a choice in Ft. Worth, Tx.
Lucky people who live in areas with a better choice.

One wood I would like to use is Spanish Cedar - I have a sample of a single 1x10x8' board, and it would be perfect.
A little heavier thanWRC, stronger, virtually perfect grain with no knots.
But a little boring like basswood.

Another wood I would like to try is Cottonwood, but the only place I heard it was cut and available was in Kansas, 20 years ago. I just missed getting a sample when a local cut a 100' tree for a guy to make replica chuck wagons. Similar in weight to Spruce, Spanish cedar, and Poplar.
