I'm in south central PA, so most lakes around here are not that big. Weekly use will be at local lakes (maybe a couple of miles long from tip to tip) or on the Susquehanna or Swatara Creek. The Laughing Loon boats look really interesting to build but I think I may choose a simpler design for my first to ensure that I get the basics down and don't get discouraged.

I have heard good things about the Redfish kayaks. What I'm wondering, is what in is the real difference between the Return and the Spring L?

I also got a note from Nick who suggested that I look at the Great Auk and possible the Night Heron. I really like the look of the Night Heron and Return. Hopefully I can decide by this weekend as I would really like to get the plans order and start things moving. Summer is around the corner!
