We need a new term to separate strip built boats done the traditional way and strippers done using wood strips and glass on either side, look similiar on the outside but are very different. Helped a friend build a 30' something sailboat using tradtional strip planking many many years ago. Bead and cove planks that were as I remember 5/8" thick and edge nailed over steamed frames and temporary bulkheads. Nice perfectly waterproof boat with very little maintenance and still all wood.
