Nothing about Kayaks is the darkest day of your life. Everything can be fixed.
Most everyone has posted about some serious mistake.
I had a gross distortion of the deck of a baidarka, remade it.
Then I crushed the aft end of the hull (no glass) in the garage door (closing it manually) - repaired it.
I have also completely reglassed a stitch and glue (left it out in the sun with too little varnish).

Boy, looking at that list you would think i was a complete idiot - that might be close.
