I am going to go out on a limb and say that the problems people have with their decks and hot weather are not because of the glue, they've because of poor glue joints and temperature is a red herring. They lean on it, the glass fractures and makes white spots, and they think it's bubbles because of bad glue between the strips.

Pretty much anything will work- I like Lee Valley GF 2002. I use it professionally for cabinetmaking, but I've been doing an experiment for the past two summers. I have a 1/4x1/4 strip of mahogany glued to a 1/4x1/4 strip of cedar with GF2002, and I've been using them as garden stakes for my second summer now, and there is no sign of glue failure. That's good enough for me.
