What would happen if you got out your inkjet printer and made one? Do they actually check numbers?

As Niven said, the only watercraft they have got fed up with in New Zealand are the jetskis - usually driven by idiots who have no where to go so do it just off the beach, round and round - for hours.

They do require or request that there be a name and phone number somewhere on a kayak so if found abandoned they don't call out Search & Rescue and waste time. I don't know how many know of this. I must get round to doing it one day.
