: I am from oh one of 7 or 14 states in the US that requires hand
: powered water craft to be registered and display a big old
: 3" x 6" sticker behind the cockpit or 4" numbers
: down both sides of the bow plus a 4" registration sticker.
: The registration fee is $17 plus a $3 writing fee plus a $5
: waterway conservation fee, for a total of $25 for three years.
: The additional $5 environmental impact fees is not accessed to
: power boats.

: Also you must carry the registration card on board at all times
: like a drivers license.

: I was wandering if this is a requirement else ware in the world or
: just here in the states. On a side note I was half temped to do
: an inlay picture frame around where the registration sticker
: goes:)

In Ireland we just wouldn't do it. They introduced a household tax this year and half the country's households have declined paying it.

Governments fall here without finishing a term if they piss us off enough. The only problem is that the following party will try to keep the policy in place that got the last lot chucked out. Then we have to chuck the new lot out as well, and then there is only Sinn Fein left, and we can't really have that because they have weird accents and they will threaten us with the Provos if we ever try to chuck them out. Also Sinn Fein keep ranting on about a "republic" which doesn't sound very democratic to me.

In Ireland we don't mind if our politicians are as bent as pretzels, as long as they don't try to stop the rest of us from being a little bit bent as well.

Well, you asked...

Et

PS that registration sticker is bloody ugly. Who does their design work? Don't they realise that people love their boats?
