It's good to hear someone else is looking into this stuff ;oD.
I'm still planning on using polyester (probably 8 oz., unless I can find 12 oz.). Seein' as the PL doesn't seem to seep through the fabric, I figure I'll want something that doesn't sop up any water that finds its way into the kayak. A coat of Rustoleum Marine or two should protect it. Haven't figured out a paint scheme yet.
I just need to finish my workbenches... should pick up the rest of the lumber and MDF on Monday, assuming the Chief Financial Officer (my wife) approves the budget. Then I need to finish swapping out the timing belt, idlers, front seals, and rear main oil seal (oh yeah, the oil/air baffle plate, too) on my Outback. Then, I can start work on my Sea Tour 15 EXP. By the time I get the kayak built and sewn up, the weather should be warm enough for me to PL it outside, then let it cure in the garage with the door open.
