Mick, Sterling added .025" tape to the plug on the parting line after it was faired and then did another draw of putty that put that thickness on each side of the tape. Tape is removed and we are have the recess.

This was more for function than esthetics. When carving at Skook you lay the kayak on its side, so this should have a softer feel than the prototype.

I will be on the water the next couple of days so I will get some photos.
