To recess the seams, did you add tape to the moulds or the original plug - that we can't quite see? I ask this because I did notice that the seam was invisible or very hard to see - and yet you had added that (.003", but still more thickness) flange tape that should have made the seam even more visibile. Anyway, nice move as it reduces conflict with the lines of the kayak.
