Ah, you too have welded a coil of extension cord to itself, then? :D

Dan, for extension cords, the smallest I'd use would be 2.5, about 10ga. A 9ga would be better, heavier guage with multi-strand wire.

Stephen,
The oil-filled electric storage heaters work very well for heating a small space like a 'tent' over the kayak, and relatively inexpensive to run. They also don't put a constant load on the garage wiring.
