: Etienne,
: in your review you comment that the Shooting Star is a totally
: different concept intended for a different function. What do you
: mean by that? I was under the impression that the Shooting Star
: was just for the smaller paddlers (I weigh between 140 and 145
: lbs). I looked at the North Star and the Fire Star but they seem
: to me that they would both be a bit large for me.

: Thanks,

: David S.

The Shooting Star is not simply a scaled down version of the North Star, which the Fire Star IS.

Both the North Star and the Fire Star are higher volume, high sheer line kayaks.

The Shooting Star is a lower volume lower sheer line than the Fire Star, the closest in size.

The Shooting Star is 16' 6" and the Fire Star is 17'. Both have a beam of 21".

The Shooting Star hull is slightly flattened compared with the Fire Star to give it more initial stability
relative to it's smaller size.

Bill,
A black boat sounds cool, but didn't I just read about the problems of being seen by other boaters????

Perhaps you could put a detail line along the sheer of light tape.
