So, guys, what do you find is the best way to torture your ply? Solitary confinement for long periods? Bamboo shoots under the fingernails? Waterboarding?

Inquiring minds want to know!

: Hi folks

: I've been absent from the forum for a while. Too busy building my
: new shed. Lots happening though I see.

: Some of you may be interested, so I thought I should mention that I
: found some photos of the old 14 ft tortured ply design that I
: took from a book many years ago and posted them on my site.

: All the info needed is there to build the boat which is just a week
: or 10 day project for most of you guys.

: The design is actually quite effective for anyone up to about 160
: lbs. The waterline is full length and rough water handling is
: good.

: Generally a great boat for small women and teenagers. It is also
: very lightweight and very cheap to build.

: The book it came out of is ancient (± 35 years old) and I am sure
: it is out of print. I can't remember the author or the name of
: the design. However strictly speaking I am infringing copyright,
: though I doubt anyone cares after all this time, so if anyone is
: interested it is probably a good idea to download the photos in
: case I have to remove them from the site. The design is royalty
: free as I recall.

: A note on design variations: I once stretched the design (length
: only) to 15 ft and installed an ocean cockpit and it worked out
: really well. A rear bulkhead with a plastic hatch in it would be
: a good addition too. I also reduced the radius on the rear deck
: on these boats to make ocean cockpits more usable.
