Hello Randy,

I have a similar plane and agree it's the best for strip building. I use waterstonea now but usd to do the "scary sharp" method and it works great. I formerly hand-held the small blades but now I use o e of those blade jigs with the wheel on it that clamps the blade. It works really well even for small blades. Mine has two jaws to accomodate big and small blades.
