Went looking for fairleads yesterday, since I wanted something strong that would bolt securely to the deck without having to make my own. West Marine had lots of padeyes, but they required two holes each and were pricey. U-bolts were even more expensive. Eyebolts, which only needed one hole, were cheaper, but looked too clunky. So I continued looking for inexpensive, attractive, one-hole alternatives. I found something in the electrical section that looks like it would work well: stainless steel cable ties: 10 for about $12, made by Ancor.

As you can see on the website, they come in a whole range of sizes. I got the 1/2 inch, which look strong enough without being over-sized or overly heavy. Does anyone have experience using these?
