: So now Sam's kayak has grass bits in the paint,

So his kayak is camouflaged. He can paddle along the shoreline of any swamp and barely be noticed by waterfowl...give the boy a camera and see what great pictures he can get now.

:while Sadie's has bugs in hers.

This only means fish will be attracted to her kayak...give her a fishing rod and get the BBQ fired up.

LOL! There is always a positive viewpoint on a not so good situation...all you got to do is use imagination with a dose of unreality. I have had a few varnish jobs messed up because of dust blowing in the slightly open garage door while I was working in sweltering heat. Even on days when the air was still and I thought I was being very careful: dust and bugs. I guess this is why I am not too worried about a final finish...that said, even if I got a perfect finish, I know myself...I'd ruin it the first time I paddled on the river.
