S&G: tape and/or cloth?

G'Day All,
I don't need a super strong layup for the boat that i am finishing off and was wondering if I could get away with just taping the seams internally for and aft of the cockpit and laying 6Oz cloth in the cockpit area without the tape. The outside hull will be sheathed with 4Oz cloth and I have fairly generous fillets as I like to round over chines as much as possible.
I'd rather not have to buy anymore boatbuilding materials as I am trying to finish my hybrid cirrus with what i have at my disposal, so I'm hoping this layup will do the trick.
Cheers in advance.
