: The "Gorilla Grip" brand tape is amazing for outdoor use. I ended
: up using it as a rub strip down the keel of my painted nylon SOF when the
: paint developed a crack down the keel edges. It stayed on all summer
: (weekly use and outdoor storage) and was still so tacky at the end of the
: season that the tape peeled up the remaining paint underneath when I took
: it off!
: I always keep a small roll behind by seat.

Actually, so far with my covering method, I've not seen any problems at all with wear or damage. But better safe than sorry.
