: I can't find the image now, but a very clever builder out there put lengths
: of bicycle inner tube over the jaw end of his spring clamps. He'd then
: glue a strip in place and clamp it so that the rubber pressed against the
: inner (narrow) edge of the strip.

: The result is that the spring clamp jaws hold onto the previous strip,
: allowing the rubber band to press the current strip against the previous
: strip. It allows you to put as much pressure on the strip as needed,
: exactly where it's needed.

: I really hope this makes sense!

Here it is. You can go about as fast as you can pull out new strips. A key is that the clamp can be applied with one hand.
