Hi Rob,

Some bathtub manufacturers build tubs as gorgeous as your kayaks, and skip the old-fashioned barrel look entirely: http://www.laguna.li/english/produkt.html

One way I've seen the bands done involves what kind of looks like a big pipe clamp. Picture #6 on this page shows it on the back side of the installation: http://cedartubs.com/assembly.html
